To be eligible for NDIS funding, you must:
Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa
Be under 65 years of age when applying
Have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will assess your application to determine if you meet the criteria.
An NDIS service provider is an individual or organization registered to deliver support and services to participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). These services can include personal care, transport, therapy, support coordination, and more—designed to help individuals with disabilities achieve their goals, live independently, and participate fully in the community.
NDIS support is ongoing and can last as long as you continue to meet the eligibility criteria. Your NDIS plan is reviewed regularly—usually every 12 months—to ensure it still meets your needs and goals. As long as you're eligible, the support continues and is adjusted based on any changes in your situation.
You can find NDIS-registered providers in Adelaide by visiting the official NDIS Provider Finder on the NDIS website. Simply enter your location and the type of support you need. You can also ask your support coordinator or Local Area Coordinator (LAC) for recommendations based on your plan and goals.
To apply for NDIS funding, follow these steps:
Check your eligibility on the NDIS website.
Make an Access Request by calling the NDIS on 1800 800 110 or submitting a form online.
Provide supporting documents, including evidence of your disability and how it impacts your daily life.
If approved, you’ll meet with a planner or Local Area Coordinator to develop your NDIS plan.
